Transferring a VisSim License
HARDWARE KEY
If you have a hardware key, simply move the hardware key to the new machine. You may have to install the hardware license key drivers on the new machine. This can be done by reinstalling VisSim on the new machine and selecting the hardware key install. Click here to download the hardware license key driver
SOFTWARE LICENSE KEY
This method requires a USB memory stick or floppy disk. To move your VisSim product license from one machine to another, use the VisSim License Manager as described below.
a. Run the "VisSim License Manager" from the Start > Programs > VisSim 7.0 - Software folder.
b. Insert a USB memory stick (or floppy disk).
c. Click the "Transfer License..." button.
A dialog box appears letting you select the drive letter of a USB memory stick or floppy disk.
d. Install VisSim on the new machine and move the memory stick from step b to it.
e. Repeat steps a, b, and c on the new machine.
ALTERNATE METHOD IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FLOPPY OR USB MEMORY DEVICE
If you are not currently enrolled in the Software Maintenance program, a fee is applied to this procedure. To determine the fee, please contact sales@vissol.com before you initiate this procedure.
a. From the old computer, run the "VisSim License Manager" from the Start > Programs > VisSim 7.0 - Software folder.
b. Click the "Remove License..." button, then click OK.
c. Click the "Send Removal Codes..." button.
An email message is created with removal codes. Add an explanation for the license removal and send the email to license@vissol.com.
d. Run the "VisSim License Manager" on the new computer and send a new license request. Once your removal codes have been verified, your license keys will be emailed to you.
e. After you receive your license keys, run the "VisSim License Manager" and click the "Enable License" button. The "Enable VisSim License" dialog appears.
f. Paste the "Enter Code" and "Additional Code" values in the appropriate boxes and click OK.
